As part of the new finance organization and Vivo Energy (VE) focus on profitable growth, the MI/Planning Analyst position in the Operating Unit (OU) is a critical role that will support the Finance Manager and Country Leadership Team in managing the OU performance and designing and driving the delivery of the plan. This position is aimed to be accountable for analyzing, understanding and supporting the OU management team to maximize the business performance.
Organization
Direct line to the country Finance Manager and dotted to VE Head of MI in the central finance team.
Principal Accountabilities
- Financial Analysis: Ensure that the different monthly/quarterly reporting are completed as per group deadline. Analyze the financial performance (including but not limited to the segmented income statement, balance sheet and cash flow) of the OU on a monthly basis and coordinate in country performance reviews. A clear explanation of the actual performance versus the plan and the prior year must be provided.
- Capex management/coordination: Ensure that Post Investment Reviews, Capex tracking and monthly reporting, capex monitoring and control are performed as required Investment Proposals (IPs) will continue to be prepared by the relevant business teams.
- Cost management: Track and analyze cost drivers and explain variances on local expenses by cost centers on a monthly basis.
- Annual plan/ Quarterly forecasts: Coordinate and prepare the annual plan (5-year plan) and quarterly forecasts as per the group deadlines.
- Margin Analysis and volume reporting: Review and analyze volume performance (by tracking changes in market share) against plan and prior year on a monthly basis. Analyze gross margin by segment in full details to allow a better understanding of the financial performance of the OU.
- MI: custodian of MI architecture and manuals in the country [Oracle BI super user]
Requirements
- Good financial foundation [At least a Master Degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics].
- A minimum of 3 years of working experience in a finance role.
- Solid understanding of VE business model including Supply and Distribution and margin structures.
- Analytical thinker and problem solver.
- Good communicator in English and French [oral and written].
- Effective inter-personal skills to work with the country management team and central finance and business teams.
- Self-starter: able to drive change and run projects.
- Ability to deliver against very tight deadlines and work under pressure
